Description
The Hall of Clestrain in Orphir, Orkney was the birthplace of the explorer John Rae in 1813. Eighty eight years earlier, on the 10th of February 1725, John Gow and his pirates raided the hall during a return to Orkney.
Some accounts say they came away with many valuables, others say it was only the silver spoons. Two hundred and ninety eight years later, we’re giving back by donating 10% of every bottle of J. Gow Hall of Clestrain to the John Rae society, and their efforts to return the Hall to its former glory.
