The Piece of Eight was a Spanish silver dollar worth eight reales. Containing around 25.5g of silver it was often cut and divided into eight pieces or bits to make change. In the 16th century it became the first global currency, due to its reliability and consistency in weight and was still in use until the 19th century.
Sought after by explorers, sailors and pirates alike.
A rum as reliable as the coin that inspired it,
shaped by the sea,
aged eight full years beside the waves.

Taste notes
Toffee, ripe plum, vanilla and honey on the nose. Rich layers of cherry and stewed red fruit interwoven with hints of leather and oak. A long warming, finish with spice and dark chocolate.
